-- Charlotte's Hayes Stadium will be the site of the 2013 Atlantic 10 baseball stadium, the league announced at its spring meetings earlier this week.

Charlotte has won three of the last four A-10 tournaments, including last month in Camden, N.J. Next season's tournament will be at Fordham's Houlihan Park in the Bronx, N.Y. The 2014 tournament was awarded to Saint Louis.

-- Here's how the 49ers' home/away rotation looks for men's basketball next season: Charlotte will play its usual home-and-home series with Richmond, George Washington and Xavier. Home games: Duquesne, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis, Temple. Away games: Dayton, Fordham, La Salle, Saint Joseph's. Massachusetts.

-- Five 49ers baseball players made the the N.C. Collegiate Sports Information Directors all-state team: Pitchers Tyler Barnette and Andrew Wilson, catcher Ross Steedley, infielder Shane Basen and outfielder Justin Wilson. Barnette was also named to the Louisville Slugger/Collegiate freshman all-American team.
-- Here's how the three 49ers who competed in this week's NCAA Finals Track and Field meet in Des Moines ended up: Jake Deaton was 18th in both the shot put and discus; Keara Thomas was 20th in the semifinals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase; Darius Law was 22nd in the 400.

I think you mean Andrew SMITH, not Wilson. And we've won three of the last five A-10 baseball tournaments - didn't win it in '09 or '10.

In other news, that's great to hear about the A-10 baseball tournament coming to Charlotte. We really need to host that thing every year.

Winning baseball in the A-14 is like winning a gold metal in the special olympics
