QB Karsten Miller leaves school, will transfer

Quarterback Karsten Miller, one of the first players to verbally commit to Charlotte's new football program, has left school and plans to transfer, a source told the Observer.

Miller had been competing for the starting quarterback job with Matt Johnson, Lee McNeil and Kyle Hoffman during fall practice.

Miller, from North Davidson High, already had an offer from Charlotte in 2011 before he missed most of his senior season with a broken leg.

It was a crowded field at the QB position. I wish Karsten the best of luck. Go NINERS!

I think perhaps to call the football program a disaster may be a little bit premature. You know, considering they have yet to play a game, and the worst we can say so far is that a player transferred out that was one of multiple in a position he probably wouldn't have started at. But to answer your idiotic question, several programs right now have better than winning records, the Men's Soccer team went to the College Cup Finals last year and did quite well again this year, our Golf team has been one of the best in the country for several years. The Baseball and Track & Field teams have been better than average. Our volleyball team finished 10-16, so I guess if you were only looking at them you might say we're a disaster. But to call every program at Charlotte a disaster is absolutely ridiculous.

Patrick O'Brien is in the quarterback mix too. Probably will be sharing snaps with Matt Johnson game one against Campbell. Journalists always leave him out the UNCC QB discussion for some reason.

Don't count the McNeill kid out either. He really stepped up in the coaches eyes during the Fall practices.
