Niners women looking to extend streak

The Charlotte 49ers women’s basketball team (16-6, 7-1) puts its seven-game winning streak on the line when it battles Atlantic 10 rival Duquesne (13-9, 3-4) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Halton Arena.

The 49ers are currently in sole possession of second place in the Atlantic 10 and their seven game winning streak is the third longest conference winning streak in the program’s history. The record is 10, set in 2006.

Junior Aysha Jones, who scored a team game-high 18 points in the 49ers' win at Saint Louis this week, leads the team, averaging 12.7 points a game. She also has already dished out a career-high 59 assists this season.

Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for youth (17-and-under). All Charlotte 49ers students with a valid student ID are admitted free.
