Charles Dewhurst's lousy luck continues.
Hours after it was announced he would probably play for the first time this season Tuesday against Winthrop, Dewhurst broke his finger Monday and is out for an indefinite period of time.
Dewhurst, who had been practicing since Friday after injuring his knee in October, broke his left index finger Monday afternoon in practice. He was to see doctors later tonight or Tuesday, when it will probably be announced what Dewhurst's prognosis is.
Dewhurst, who played at Charlotte Latin, announced after last season that he would forego his senior season, but changed his mind over the summer. He's had injury problems for much of his career at Charlotte.

I was unaware that attempting to come back and play a 5th year of college basketball was the mentality of a so called "vagina".
What a shame. Great family. Know them outside the hoops world. I always got a kick at his pops pacing the track when he was in the game in a jersey. They care. When Dew was younger he had crazy hops and explosiveness.

You ignorant people that are calling him out for being soft are morons. I've played on teams with Dewhurst for years and that is the last term I'd use to describe him. He always plays extremely hard and when doing that, injuries can arise. Hard worker, good guy, good player. How many of you haters made it to a D1 sport? Probably none of you!

Dewhurst is one of the best defenders on the team. I'm not even remotely phased by the ludicrous attempts at painting him as weak as they are completely asinine, almost to the point of hilarity.
I realllly hope his finger isn't all that bad. He's a good basketball player and a fine young man that we need on the court.

Dew is a reliable player who can defend and does whatever this team needs him to do, not to mention he is a first class person off the court. I am amazed by the negativity and profanity that I read on this site. I agree with the question how many of you haters played a D1 sport. How many played a sport period? Video games don't count. Not to mention trashing a coach after 8 games. I want us better than 3-5 also, but give Major a chance before you dump him. I am embarassed by some of these comments and can only hope they didn't come from alumni or students. The profanity shows the imaturity of the authors. I have socks older than some of these guys. Grow up boys, and have some respect for others if you can't have it for yourself. GO NINERS!!

Charles Dewhurst has always been an outstanding contribution to the team, I highly doubt this injury was related to an incident at a strip club.

Where do you get off calling Charles Dewhurst an asshole, you should be ashamed of yourself. I feel sorry for you, Dewhurst is such a beautiful person inside and out and I can't wait to see him back on the court.
I tried to look up more information, is there any truth to that story about him at Onyx?
I called Onyx to inquire more about the situation, all they would say is that they respect the privacy of their customers and they had no further comment on what happened.
Is Charles Dewhurst gay? Heard he had it out with the new coach about it, is that a rumor? Never knew much about the guy
