49ers baseball team takes series finale

After sitting through 3 1/2 hours of delays on Friday, Charlotte and Dallas Baptist finished the second game of the weekend baseball series Saturday and played a third game, with the teams splitting the results.

Dallas Baptist (39-17) won the delayed game 12-8 and Charlotte (39-14) took the series finale 8-2.

The 49ers will be the top seed in the Atlantic 10 tournament, which starts Wednesday in Camden, N.J. The 49ers earned a bye and will play Thursday.

Go 49ers! And congrats to Coach Hibbs on his 600th win. Lets hope our new football team comports itself with the same class as our baseball/softball programs!

Who the hell is Dallas Baptist and how did we manage to lose a game to them?

I fear that once again, if we don't win the A-10 tournament we get nothing.

J, do a little research before posting. They are a D1 (very strong) baseball program. They are top 75 RPI and may get an at-large NCAA tourney bid themselves.

DBU is actually #54 in the RPI as of today.
