Football recruiting target nears return

North Davidson High quarterback Karsten Miller, who broke his leg in the Knights' season opener in August, might return to the Knights as early as next week.

Miller, who has been offered a scholarship by the 49ers, has been off crutches for a few weeks, according to coach Mark Holcomb. He's going to the doctor on Friday and, if he's cleared, could play in North Davidson's homecoming game Oct. 14 against West Forsyth. He had a rod inserted in his femur and was never in a cast.

Charlotte remains the only school to offer Miller a scholarship, and Holcomb said Miller had hoped he would received more offers had he stayed healthy this season.  But Holcomb said even if Miller receives other offers after he returns, Charlotte, for now at least, would remain the favorite.

A former North Davidson teammate of Miller's, offensive tackle Thomas Frazier, is a freshman at Charlotte and hopes to make the team as a walk-on. Frazier, 6-3, 285 pounds, played in the East-West All-Star game in Greensboro last summer. He only heard from Division II programs like Lenoir-Rhyne (although he also considered walking on at N.C. State.

It's good to hear that Karsten is recovering. He should come to Charlotte and recoup for a year.

For future training and education it is hereby mandatory that this media source refer to UNCC as UNC 49ers at Charlotte or simply UNC 49ers.

UNCC can be utilized but never just the location where the UNC system in 1965 located its 4th institution calling it University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

The abbreviation for educational purposes is UNC at Charlotte or in the case of the AD would be referenced as UNC 49ers or UNC 49ers at Charlotte long version.

stupid a$$=6:30 poster

@7:45.
The 6:30 poster is a regular troll. I'm actually starting to laugh at him. BTW, he certainly is proving himself to be a stupid A-hole and is to be pitied.

Anon 6:30, I have good news for you. Someone told me Walmart has just put light blue tee shirts on sale, designed specifically for fans unable to graduate from high school. It seems they want to get rid of them before the UNC-chapel hill football team gets hit with 3 or 4 years probation.

Why do you have to attend a university to root for their athletic program(s)? You guys are so delusional, it's scary. Stop being so jealous and petty. You sound like morons. When UNCC does some noteworthy and has time to build a foundation, you will get the coverage and attract new fans...even ones that may not attend UNCC for classes.

Why aren't the 49'ers offering someone like Podrebarac from Weddington? That would be a dream "get" for them. He would someone to build the entire program around.

Again, you as well as the rest of you losers refuse to answer the question. Whether it's the point that if you do not attend UNCC, you must be uneducated, or why it is blasphemy to root for a sports team of a college that you may not have attended...?

We're waiting. And laughing at you and the rest of the Niner dorks.

Hey man, if you want to root for whatever team, then do it. Just don't fool yourself into thinking you are part of that university and for God's sake do not refer to said team as "we". In the case of Walmart Tarheels know that "your" coach (Ole Roy) wants nothing more than for you to shut up and has said as much in an unguarded moment of candor.

"stupid a$$=6:30 poster"

sounds like the nerdy unemployed waterboy retard others talk about who never went to college and barely got out of high school with a D- average but does nothing but pester uncc and other boards with is ignorance.

I wonder if the good folks at The Charlotte Observer who gave the Niners' fans this wonderful Blog expected it to melt into a forum followed by trolls. I doubt it.

I guess I expected more from people who may have graduated from college or maybe even high school.

Thanks anyway David.

Again I ask, why must you be uneducated if you have not attended or graduated from scholarly giant that is, UNCC?

I have a feeling we're going to be here for awhile. It's okay...take your time and sound it out.

The fact that you incessantly troll this blog tells that you are uneducated! Geez Find something better to do. Why not something profitable or that involves a female.
When does your shift start at Burger King?

Does anyone know the stats on this guy? Btw...I'm sure there will be plenty of D1 transfers available too that we can build with. You read about guys like that all the time and it's not unusual to see a few go to the NFL.

Anonymous said...

Now UNCC is producing NFL players? Oh my...

Anonymous said...

@12:13
He didn't say Charlotte would produce NFL players.He said D1 transfers sometimes turn out to be NFL players.
However, we will produce an entire team of pro players before you produce one logical post. Happy Trolling to you.

@11:25
Burger King does not hire anyone that stupid.

Anon 12:13...you need to work on your reading comprehention. You're clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed nor do you know anything about college football. Maybe your husband can explain it to you...lol.

Charlotte will have as much chance to product NFL players as the majority of college programs around this region do.

Hearing that we can't, we won't, we suck, we're inferior, etc. is nothing new. These posters act as if we are delusional and they have discovered something new. Yes we are delusional to think we will get PHD programs, we did, to think that we will grow above 20k students, we have, to think that we are going to start football, we will in 2013. All UNCC did for me was give me a great education for a low cost that enabled me to have a six figure job. No, not Google or Apple money but a decent living which is all that I was looking to get.

Niner loud and proud 1989 grad and proud to say that when you say we can't, we say watch and see! Go Niners!!!!

we know the beanpole nerd waterboy. he was in our class and the dumbest sombeech in high school. they had to pass him just to get rid of him. we heard he was white trailor trash now on welfare.
he is a useless parasitic maggot to society and has no business on a college forum. mcdonalds fired him because he couldnt properly clean the restrooms working up to burger flip training but messed that up too.
he was last in his class in high school.
