Charlotte 49ers land former Cuthbertson star

Just confirmed that wide receiver-returner Emmitt Afam, who scored 23 touchdowns last season at Waxhaw’s Cuthbertson High, will play for the 49ers this season (originally reported by @gtgblog). Afam, who originally verbally committed to Charlotte, signed with Colorado last spring, but changed his mind. Afam, 5-11, 170 pounds, had 50 receptions for 920 yards and 12 TDs last season. He also ran for seven touchdowns and had four more as a returner.
