Defensive back Martay Mattox, who led the 49ers in tackles last season, has been dismissed from the football team for violating team rules, coach Brad Lambert told the Observer.
Mattox had 85 tackles (46 unassisted, 36 assisted) and two interceptions last season. He also returned 15 kickoffs for a 16.9-yard average and two punts for a minus 2.5-yard average.
Mattox came to Charlotte after playing one season at East Mississippi Community College. He began his college football career at South Carolina.

Tough loss. One of the best players on the team.
Well done, Charlotte. First year of the program and you're already behaving like Clemson and Florida State. Kudos.
Sounds about right
This story reeks of racism!
Prolly couldnt keep his hands off the drugs.
Tough loss..Unc would have let him stay on the team.
@ Robert Hunt.
Pretty sure cutting him loose is the exact opposite
of "big time" programs behaviors.
Why are you singling out Clemson and FSU? You have
a target much closer up in Orange County.
Thanks for your insight.
Robert Hunt clearly misread the article. Charlotte dismissed an important football player from the program. That could not possibly be any more different from the behavior of Clemson and Florida State,

Football is my favorite game..I really liked that game and its player.I also play football in my school and collage days.I was captain of my school and collage football team.I play football very well.I would like to play football in my free time.It is really best game for me.thanks for sharing this information about the football.
And an already awful defense gets worse. Wonderful. Hope the new recruits on offense help us average 40 points a game, because we'll need to score that much to have a winning record.
