Karsten Miller, a quarterback at North Davidson High who has been offered a scholarship at Charlotte, broke his leg Friday in the Knights' season-opening game against Thomasville.
Knights coach Mark Holcomb said Miller had surgery on his broken femur on Saturday. It is still not known how much time Miller will miss.
Miller, a 6-2, 200-pound senior, was the Central Piedmont 4A's player of the year last season. He accounted for 27 touchdowns for the Knights.
Holcomb said Charlotte is the only offer Miller has received so far.
Other offers made by the 49ers include:
-- Offensive tackle Harrison Monk of Charlotte's Providence High, according to Panthers coach Randy Long.
-- Safety Martez Hester of Kennesaw, Ga., according to Rivals.com.
-- Quarterback Justin Bolus of James Island, S.C., according to the Charleston Post and Courier.
-- Quarterback Chris Jenkins of Lake Marion, S.C., according to the Times-Democrat of Orangeburg, S.C.

Thanks for the update David.
Info on NN.N suggests Karsten had a clean break in his Femur. If that's the case hopefully he'll be back on his leg by Spring.
Monk? Hester? Jenkins? Are any of these cats relatives of former or current NFL players?
Unfortunately, the famous Monk relative is Adrian Monk. It's a gift, and a curse.
Hopefully he has a speedy recovery to return strong and have an opportunity to earn a scholarship for a good school.
The well-known Monk relative is Adrian Monk.
