Former Butler star Uriah LeMay transfers to Charlotte

Wide receiver Uriah LeMay, a former four-star recruit at Butler High, is transferring to the Charlotte 49ers from Georgia, a source confirmed Thursday.

LeMay (6-foot-2, 197 pounds) was a redshirt freshman at Georgia last season and will be eligible to play for the 49ers when the enter Conference USA for football in 2015. He is the brother of another former Butler player, quarterback Christian LeMay, who already announced in January he would transfer from Georgia.

News of LeMay's transfer was first reported by Rivals.com.

Uriah LeMay was one of four Georgia players arrested in March on misdemeanor charges of theft by deception. The players were accused of depositing paper stipend checks from Georgia's athletic department through a mobile device and also cashing them at a convenience store. LeMay will be arraigned June 5 in Georgia, where he will be informed of the charges or he will enter a plea.

What is UNCC doing? They should not lower their standards to allow this cheater and thief to play for them. I will not longer cheer for the 49ers as long as he's on the team.
This kid, brother and dad cheated their way through high school and he gets rewarded for playing with a class act team like UNCC. Send him to Tenn with his partner in crime(cheating) Riley.

Its a fresh start for Uriah and a new chapter as a 49er. As long as Charlotte maintains its code of conduct for players and Uriah follows them, the program hasnt lowered its standards, imo.

Not only did they cheat lie and do immoral unthical things including sex at school but the Observer sports dept allows a completely asinine letter to be published willingly that supported QB Lemay not playing his Sr year due to what they considered as harsh treatment by former CMS Superintendant Gorman.

The arrogance is so overwhelming it defies all logic but typical of these spoiled rotten brats and their fathers who try to make money off their sons that we clearly witnessed with the world in the Cam Newton "PAY FOR PLAY" criminal affair that he got free passes on.

UNCC 49ers alreadu headed down the primrose path of corruption and only in its 2nd season?

Dont say you werent warned. Clearly there will be problems with the QB situation with this type of paternal arrogance and a media outlet who exacerbates the problem not to mention the incredible promotion the most corrupt situation in college sports ever with Newton.

They dont it "SCAM CITY" for nuttin do they?

NCAA has its eyes and ears out now and well aware of what is developing.

Stay away from problem athletes is always the #1 best policy. Nip it in the bid.

Why do Georgia football players get stipends?

Please don't disrespect young people who make mistakes. People like you need to take a look in the mirror.

I am sure his dad, (y'all remember him, the Rev. LeMay from Porter Ridge), will view this as a "Youthful indiscretion" like Christians little sexcapade at Butler.

Player from charlotte getting expose for there real talent

People who live in glass houses shouldn't cast stones. I get that Uriah Lemay made a mistake and his brother did as well. Hopefully this will put him on the right path. You shouldn't bury young people when they fall. Help them back up and put them on the right path. Why does it have to be pointed out that his father is a pastor? If his father was a truck driver, no one would have pointed that out.

disrespecting a boy or a punk? you got in ass backwards idiot ...

thats the biggest problem with discipline in todays society with spoiled rotten brat students not properly taught to respect authority ...
just because you play a sport and win is meaningless ... lot of great pro athletes who end up dead or in jail ...

take your punishment like a real man ... nobody is above the law or the rules... do the crime do the time ... its that simple and it will make you a better man for it ...

think you are too good and skip out like a boy or a punk then you will always be a boy and a punk never grow up to be a real man ...

lot of sorry parents are still boys and punks too ...

proverbs says: spare the rod spoil the child ... and if a father does not discipline his child with the rod he hates his child ...

too bad these punks didnt join the military for a couple yrs to learn real discipline and how to be real man instead of staying a boy or a punk all their lives ...

Coach runs a tight ship. If this kid mesess up again, no doubt he'll be off the team in a hurry. Hoping he has learned his lesson and keeps his act together.

Great get by the 49er coaching staff. A few more recruits like this one and the 49ers will have that 46,000 seat stadium full for every game.

The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight, to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth— Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.

Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.

Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul. My son, if your heart is wise, my heart too will be glad.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.

Fathers, do not provoke your children but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will give delight to your heart.

Discipline your son while there is hope.

The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.

Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.

Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.

A wise son hears his father's instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.

Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

A fool despises his father's instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is prudent.

Blows that wound cleanse away evil; strokes make clean the innermost parts.

My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.
