Observations from Charlotte's 70-69 loss against East Tennessee State on Tuesday:
-- Coach Alan Major has the flexibility to play the guys who are playing well, especially in the backcourt. That's why Derrio Green, who didn't score, played just 13 minutes. Deuce Briscoe consigned to the bench this season, played a season-high 25 minutes and made some big shots. Luka Voncina was in there for a steady 22 minutes.
-- The one constant in the backcourt has been freshman Pierria Henry, who played 22 minutes. He had a freshman-like line, scoring 13 points on four-of-eight shooting (three-of-five from 3-point range). He had five steals -- but also four turnovers. He always seems to be around the ball, for better or for worse sometimes.
-- Freshman Terrence Williams (West Mecklenburg High) played seven minutes and scored four points and grabbed a rebound. He was a factor when he was in there.
-- That game-winning 3-pointer by ETSU's Jarvis Jones was his only basket of the game. He's no stranger to game winners: He did the same thing two years ago against Lipscomb.
-- The 49ers don't return to Halton until Dec. 10, when Davidson visits. There are three road games between now and then -- Wright State on Saturday, East Carolina Dec. 3 and Radford Dec. 6.

Judy Rose needs to go. No other school in the country would put up with her as an AD. We need another Jeff Mullins to save this program as he did after Wissel. We have sunk so low. Instead of competing with top 25 programs like Louisville and Cincinati as we did well, now we lose to ETSU and play in a lousy league. This has got to change.
Damn those trolls! They were 100% right in regards to this pathetic university and its athletic department. To come to this earth-shattering conclusion, they used a blend of common sense, reason and logic. We trolls shall reiterate the obvious...UNCc is a JOKE!
Things could be better at Niner Nation if the AD spent as much time worrying about the men's programs as she does worrying over the girls' programs. I think it is time for a change at the top, and until recently I have always supported her.
I've said it all along...UNCc has gotten what it deserves..They treated Lutz with disrespect and it has come back 10 fold on them. Not only is their university a joke, their basketball team is a joke, thier coach is a MAJOR joke, thier AD is a huge joke, and their president is a Duiboso...I hope they continue thier slide and never, ever, ever recover...Lutz was/is a quality guy and they turned on him and made him the scape goat...JUDY..carma, like you, is a BIT@@...hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahahahahaha..me and Bobby Lutz laughing....
The scary thing is Major looks confused on many fronts. He's had enough time to at least install some basics, he's been here 2 yrs in April, the mistakes being made can be fixed in one week.
As for talent, nobody expects 4 or 5 Jarvis Langs or Cornbreads recruited, but the new kids don't look like impact kids. Braswell was an impact guy his frosh year. I think Major is afraid to play Thorne and protecting him from total humiliaton.

I think you are off base there. Face it, Judy is a former women's basketball coach, so; yes, she will be interested in women's sports. She also would like to keep her job and I don't think she would be stupid enough to let men's sports suffer through her inattention. If you really think she's ignoring part of her job , address your concerns to Dubois. I wish you the best of luck with that.

Judy doesnt have to worry about her job since there is no real push for her to leave! Shes made the program so insignificant that not enough people care to push her out. Its her magic!
I commend her for ousting Lutz - but when the program is that far gone, then you need a big name to resurrect it, not a inexperienced unknown like Majors. Same with the football coach. A small time mickey mouse program is just what she wants and it will stay that way until shes gone!
UNCC 49ers mens basketball being such losers loaded up on preseason cupcake easy teams so this idiot coach can try to pad his record up front proving his incompetence and fragility.
This stupidity assures more last place conference finishes and ridicule for a 45 year old program spinning its wheels backwards.

You folks are out of your minds throwing these players under the bus. 1st year players played 48.5% of the total minutes. Seniors on the roster only played 19%. This is a young team and they played this way as well. These are good players. Give them more than 4 collegiate games to learn the college game. Even the non-trolls are off their rocker on this one.
