Question... Does 2012 count as each of these players "redshirt" season?

Anonymous said...

Its UNCC aka UNC-Charlotte not just Charlotte alone. Thats dorky lame and contrived. Stop looking so dumb and stupid leaving off the most important preface UNC.
Hasnt that been discussed previously? You dont want to lose your job over something as silly as that would you?

Anonymous said...

@10:26 You truly are an idiot. How are you on the internet anyway, your shift at Wal Mart isn't over.

Anonymous said...

Its Charlotte. The Athletic department droped "UNC" from their name years ago.

Anonymous said...

@10:22 - Yes, they all redshirt in '12 and then have 4 years of eligibility left.

@10:26 - Go away.

Anonymous said...

10:26 - Your post carry no weight until you learn how to spell and type. Try fixing your spelling and grammar errors. If you can.

The UNC Charlotte Athletic Department re-branded itself "Charlotte" 15 years ago. It's time for you to move on. The UNC is much more of a detriment than "important." It reinforces the stereotype that UNC Charlotte is a Tar Heel branch campus with 4 buildings and an enrollment of 500. People who truly care, like about 95% of the alumni, want the entire school renamed Charlotte University or the University of Charlotte.

10:22 - Yes, all of these signees will redshirt in 2012 and will have 4 years of eligibility on 8/31/13 when the first game is played.

Nice to see the Charlotte kids that are staying home to start the program. Also nice to see we got the QB from Lexington, my wife's hometown.

GO NINERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been a while! I thought you had died! I ALMOST began to miss your retread postings about the UNC moniker!

Anyhow, congratulations to the Niners and their first scholarship football players! Welcome to Niner Nation boys!

Not so fast my friend. I'm o.k. with "Charlotte" but I'm a graduate from the 70's and UNCC still holds water. So quit trying to rewrite history and stop getting on folks and alum who choose to use UNCC or UNC-Charlotte or UNC-C to describe school. You're showing your stupidity and you're acting like a child.

Confusion over UNCC and UNCCH proves you are either dumb as hell or lying plus lame. No others are confused over UNC.
Agree the loser queen name has to go. Maybe some forget their history. They lost. A male AD would have never broken the law. Intellectual property rights tampering is a crime. Rose should have been replaced yrs ago.

Go UNCC 49ers

Better make that the 1960s, 1970s,
1980, 1990s, and early 2000s.
The Rose name name change gimmick only went into effect in 2002.

I supports the 'Charlotte 49ers' brand the athletic department adopted in 2002 and I am excited to see Charlotte 49ers Football coming to life before my very eyes! - 1994 Grad

@anon 11:29. It is far from stupidity or trying to rewrite history in pointing out FACTS.

Fact: the school is referred to as UNC Charlotte or simply UNCC EXCEPT for the athletics because of another FACT; that Judy Rose pushed through a rebranding and they are now simply the Charlotte 49ers for all athletic teams so maybe you should quit showing your own ignorance and go back to school for some continuing education.

Great class... Excited for the university, students, alumni, and city of Charlotte. Excellent job coaches!!!

Anonymous said...

Its similar to another school’s formal name– Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VPI&SU anyone?). You may know it by the more common name given to its athletic department – Virginia Tech, which adopted it in the late 1970’s.

Regardless, this is a big day for Charlotte Athletics and the university as a whole! Thank you young men for wanting to be a part of history!

Anonymous said...

Wow!!! Exciting times to be a 49er!!! Welcome to all those that committed today! Counting the days...!!

This is funny! UNCC has a football team....what a joke.....they'll be worse than Duke football....lol

Anonymous said...

Tarhole football and UNCR football = not much better than Duke football...
before long we will be challenging UNC Boone and UNC Greenville for the best in the state.

Anonymous said...

WOOOOHOOOO!! Can't wait till 2013!

Anonymous said...

11:29....I'm willing to bet that you do NOTHING to support Niners athletics because I promise you that 99% of those that do (you know the ones who actually care and want what is best for our alma mater) want the name changed. EVERYONE who has ever seriously studied the issue agrees the name should be changed.

Anonymous said...

UNCC stinks in everytihng....basketball program is a joke...the football program will be the same. Lol...

Anonymous said...

1 star recruits....so funny...will UNCC get to play Gaston College?

Anonymous said...

Hey Annon 1:01, your insecurity is showing along with your stupidity. I am going to pass off your post as an inferiority complex rather than just being stupid. Your attempt to bring the other fine establishments in the UNC system down to your level has caused you to refer to N C State as UNC-Raleigh, East Carolina as UNC-Greenville, and Appalachian State as UNC-Boone. Guess what; those establishments are not called what you want to refer to them as. On the other hand, UNC-Charlotte is exactly that; UNC-Charlotte. Perhaps you can find someone from one of those universities who may let you look at their diploma so that you can see the proper name. As far as a college diploma of your own; that’s not going to happen. Oh yeah; as far as UNCC challenging those other established programs “for the best in the state”. That is something else that’s not going to happen.

THE BETTER FOOTBALL PLAYERS WILL BE TRANSFERS. I know a top qb from the charlotte area who will be coming in from another college with three years eligibility after a redshirt. The better players WILL BE TRANSFERS!!!

UNCC football a funny thing...lol

I'm really proud of Charlotte's first class.

It's a terrific group of kids at the fcs level. When you taken into consideration that most of them accepted a partial schollie, then it's even more impressive.

Our first building blocks for what will become a strong football program. Excellent job by the new coaching staff!

ps Please Dump Judy. No one will miss her five years from now.

You know you're doing something right when the haters start paying attention.

Welcome to Charlotte, Recruiting Class of 2012!

Anonymous 1:16, who says "UNCC stinks in everything" must not be a Tar Heels fan.

A Tar Heels fan would know that UNCC made it all the way to the Men's Soccer National Championship.

Anonymous said...

Anon 1:31: I have seen UNC Chapel Hill Diplomas and they do say UNC Chapel Hill. They call themselves Carolina and UNC. So why don't I see you chiming in on that issue?

As for football - hate on haters. You said we couldn't get a team. You said we couldn't afford it. Said students didn't want it. Said alums wouldn't show up. Said we wouldn't find a quality staff. Said we couldn't build a stadium. Said no one would want to play for us.

But yet here we are. Go Niners!

Anonymous said...

49er's Football? What about basketball...when was the last time they were in the NCAA tourney...they stink....as for football...I guess CPCC will be the rival of the 69ers...Ha! Ha!! Something to look forward too...

Anonymous said...

Hopefully, we'll get better smack talk once the actual games start!

Anonymous said...

When the games start UNCC will be easy to find.....at the bottom...

I'm now convinced that there is only one troll posting several times. And yes, the same troll that said Charlotte would never get a football team.

How do you like us now? Can't say Charlotte will never get a football team, so now you say we'll never be good? So you acknowledge now that Charlotte will be getting a football team, that's step 1. We may never win a game for the first few seasons, and I'm fine with that. But there will be tailgating while you're still on your computer bashing a school in your pathetic use of spare time. You sad and lonely person! What a sad life to live-- feebly attempting to bring down the spirits of a growing university.

Your efforts are pointless. You have lost your stupid battle.

Charlotte 49er football is here. The coaching staff is here. The stadium is being built. The playbooks are being written. HS players are signed.

You lost.

Nice to see the foundation starting to come together. As mentioned before, I think there will be a lot of BCS transfers who will be the biggest remaining pieces of the puzzle. Can't wait 'til 2013 gets here!

Anonymous said...

UNCC football is exciting! Can't wait til' 2013!! We might even get to scrimmage Butler or Indy..Lol...trolls.

Anonymous said...

How exciting is it to watch this thing be built from the ground up? I love the energy of the staff, the enthusiasm of these kids, and magic of building something new. Great day for all Charlotte area sports fans, whether you're here to love or hate the new program. I see we have a few of the latter already. Good! That means there's passion.

Landing 23 (or more) quality players for a first class that knows they will all have to redshirt for an entire year, speaks volumes about their commitment and the experience and effort of Coach Lambert's staff. If they can land these kid's this year, imagine what they'll do with transfers and next year's HS class.

Exciting times to be a Niners fan. Exiciting times to be a football fan. GO NINERS!

To Anon 1:12

Bought FSLs and have bought season tickets to basketball all living 5 hours north Gave basketball tickets to a new prof in my graduate school programe and I'm not exactly not sure about getting to all the football games. Oh, yeah, standard alumni gifts every year so what else you got junior? Punk.

UNCC should change it's name to.....Harvard on the Highway..now that's funny!

Anonymous said...

CPCC has a better reputation than UNCc, Charlotte College, Charlotte University, or whatever they are calling themselves these days.

Anonymous said...

I hope UNCc play Gaston College so I can watch my son crush yall! Heis 6 ft 3 - 275 pound and will be be on and will be 23 when yall start. And ull never be at the levl of my TARHEELS! UNCc is the Harvard of the Highway! HAHAHAHA! Im wood rater go to CPCC than UNCc!

Anonymous said...

If the Heels are your team and your post is any indicator of your level of grammar, perhaps you should have Michael McAdoo's "tutor" write for you as well.

Anonymous said...

Anon 4:35, I don't think CPCC would accept an adult so linguistically challenged..."Im wood rater go..."

Anonymous said...

He can't even spell UNCC right...must have a 1st grade education...

What is an ATH?

Anonymous said...

It stands for "athlete". Many schools list players who can play several positions well as an athlete to bill him as someone capable of filling multiple spots on a roster.

Anonymous said...

I don't see UNCG or UNCW ashamed of their name. What makes UNCC so special that it can arbitrarily decide on a new name for the sake of "branding?" It's silly, asanine and why so many don't take this university seriously. Louisville is actually the "University of Louisville." Cincinnati is actually the "University of Cincinnati." This is not the case with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. This university's best days were when it was referred to as UNCC.

Anonymous said...

QB, Karsten Miller, Lexington, 6-3, 175 actually went to North Davidson which is in Welcome

uncc fans are so delusional. get a clue folks. you want respect? win. that's it. it's very simple... win. no, not in baseball or soccer or track. revenue sports. sports that the general public are more able to follow. why would the observer want to promote a losing brand? because uncc is 14 minutes down the road? it's not personal (trust me niner fans), it's strictly business. the athletic department is a fail. the basketball program is a fail. and the football program will fail.

to the kids that signed away 5 years of their lives, God Bless you, and may God have mercy on your souls.

10:32 - It happens more often than you think, even in NC. Pembroke St. changed its name to UNC Pembroke to demonstrate that they were a real university, rather than some 3rd-rate school in somebody's field. A couple years ago, the University of Wisconsin system dropped the Wisconsin from all the schools that had it - Wisconsin-Green Bay, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, etc. became Green Bay, Milwaukee, etc.

And if you and the other trolls insist on keeping this debate alive, at least be consistent. Start writing letters to ESPN and other media and demand that the Cornhuskers be referred to as the Nebraska-Lincoln Cornhuskers and the Badgers be referred to as the Wisconsin-Madison Badgers, since those are the actual names of those schools.

Keep on hating. I'll keep rooting for my Niners, who in 10 years will be more successful than UNC-CH, UNC-Raleigh and UNC-Greenville ever dreamed of being, and we'll be fighting UNC-Boone and UNC-Cullowhee for FCS supremacy.

GO NINERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Panther fans are delusional. If your anybody other than the Pats, Steelers, or Cowboys you should just give up!
Bobcats are a HUGE FAIL! Cut the NBA to 3 teams - Heat, Lakers, and Celtics.
The Braves SUCK! They cant even make the playoffs!

Why dont sports fans just realize they should only cheer for the top teams and cut out all the rest? I only cheer for the top teams so that makes me better and smarter than the rest of you idiots!
