Three A10 teams in Sporting News top 40

Three men's basketball teams from the Atlantic 10 Conference have been ranked by the Sporting News in its basketball preview issue.

Xavier, which advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament last season, debuts at No. 19. Saint Joseph's is ranked No. 32 and defending A10 tournament champion Temple comes in at No. 38.

The 2008-09 A10 men's basketball season gets under way on Nov. 11 as Massachusetts faces Arkansas-Monticello in the opening round of the 2K Sports Classic in Carbondale, Ill.

Outside of the three A10 teams, one other of the Charlotte 49ers' opponents this season is in the poll - Arizona State is No. 15. The 49ers could also potentially meet No. 17 Wake Forest in a tournament.

I saw Charlotte one of the teams to watch out for and made the underrated list in the Sporting News. Watch our for the Bonnies!

The Niners will be in great shape this year. Look for JV Barnette, Coleman and Bowdon to more than make up the scoring lost from Lee. I have seen them play and the fans are going to love the depth of this team.

Davidson #20?? This poll has little credibilty. They are a player away from being irrelevent. Enjoy riding the coattails of one player!
