Check out the newest Charlotte 49er

Jamar "Deuce" Briscoe, the nation's second-highest scoring freshman in NCAA Division I this past season while playing at N.C. Central, is transferring to the Charlotte 49ers.

Briscoe, who averaged 17.8 points a game second only to Liberty's Seth Curry (who has since transferred to Duke), will join the 49ers as a walk-on next season and pay his own way.

After sitting out his mandatory year because of the transfer, Briscoe will have three years of eligibility remaining and will pick up a scholarship beginning with his sophomore season of eligibility.

I will have more on Briscoe in a week or so. He is out of town and currently unavailable for an interview but his family members sent me a YouTube video of some of Briscoe's highlights.

Check out the video here

Looks like he could be the next Jerrel Lewis!!

Hey Jamar, Your game is WAY to uptempo for the 49ers. Bobby likes to move the ball around the perimeter for 30 secs and then shoot an off balance 3. None of this quick 3 / drive to the basket stuff. Better get it straight or you'll get pulled out quick!

8:17 am poster - You obviously know nothing about the 49ers, nice try though!

Bobby Lutz and slow tempo? That's not something you hear very often. Lutz has always liked to run as long as he has the players to do so. Deuce will help get back to the faster pace along with wing players who can shoot the 3 and athletic big men (the Baldwin/Plavich/Withers combo was the perfect mix for Lutz's fast breaks). Bowden, Sherril, Green, Braswell, Sirin and Deuce are going to do a lot of running the next few years.

This guy should fit in great with Lutzs total lack of discipline or half court offense. Just keep shooting those threes Jamar!

You'd think NC State might have talked to him considering how bad he lit them up!
