Harris diagnosed with bad ankle sprain

Charlotte 49ers junior point guard DiJuan Harris suffered an ankle injury last weekend during a pickup basketball game but testing this week shows nothing more serious than a bad sprain.

Harris had a MRI earlier this week on his ankle the test showed no internal damage and nothing that would require surgery, said team spokesman Tom Whitestone.

Harris will do about six weeks of rehabilitation on his ankle and should return to full strength. After point guard Michael Gerrity quit the team before the season started, Harris was the only scholarship point guard available on the team throughout the 2008-09 season.

Harris just sprained his ankle in order to get coaching experience in the summer league and give the younger guys some PT. He also plans to give up his scholarship next season so that we can sign Blake Griffin - when he drops out of the draft. Then his ankle will heal on its own, he will walk on water, and be a player/coach for Niners when we win a National Championship!!!

Well Jim is being nice when he says Gerrity just quit. He could have used a few other things words to explain what he did to us.
