The 49ers' 10th-ranked golf team finished sixth at the VCU Shootout in Richmond today, 12 shots behind winner UNC Wilmington.
Charlotte's Olafur Loftsson finished tied for seventh with a one-under par 215. Other 49ers finishes: Paul Ferrier and Will Golden (both tied for 23rd), Andy Sajevic (tied for 37th), Simon St-Louis (tied for 44th) and Rafael Guererro (66th).
Iowa State's Nate McCoy won the individual championship with an eight-under 208.
