Sherrill, Dewhurst have surgery

A few 49ers thoughts and notes:

-- Injured basketball players Charles Dewhurst and K.J. Sherrill both had successful knee surgeries Tuesday morning. Dewhurst is expected to be out 4-7 weeks, Sherrill for 8-12.

-- They've been replaced on the roster by walk-ons Raymond Morgenstern and Lamar Bradbury, who both look like they're guards.

-- The 49ers practiced today in Belk Gym, which isn't air conditioned. That was really apparent on a stuffy Tuesday afternoon.

-- Aside from Dewhurst and Sherrill, everybody else on the team was at practice.

-- Charlotte's men's soccer team is ranked 16th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll. The first-place 49ers (10-4, 5-0 Atlantic 10) play Saint Joseph's at Transamerica Field on Friday. The Soccer America magazine poll -- a tougher ranking to crack -- will be released later today.

Hate it for KJ and Dew.

Looking forward to the season.

Season tickets for $49.

Niners soccer is good. Where were they last week in Soccer America poll. Why is it harder to crack?

Morganstern & Bradbury. What is that a law firm?

Lost all respect for this blog.

No mention of Spears fiasco.

David knows about it, Whitestone knows about it.

If this program had any legitimacy, it would be in sports section.
