Charlotte 49ers women's soccer player Whitney Weinraub has been named co-player of the week in the Atlantic 10 for the second consecutive week. The sophomore forward scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory at Pittsburgh and scored the 49ers' only goal in a 1-1 double overtime tie with Ohio State.
Weinraub leads Charlotte with five goals and 11 points. The 49ers (3-1-1) return to action this weekend facing Wake Forest and Virginia Tech at the Wake Forest Nike Tournament Friday and Sunday.

Jim, You should talk about the impending football decision. Is the new website going to have a page dedicated to the Niners like the old one? Also, the Observer needs to support UNCC more. Run a piece about the rally on campus on 9/16. We need to get people there!!! Come on!
