N.J. guard taking official visit

Point guard Elijah Carter will make an official visit to Charlotte on Sept. 24, according to his prep school's Twitter account.

Carter (6-foot-2), who will play this season at Brewster (N.H.) Academy, reportedly had already committed to St. Bonaventure, but backed out of that. He includes Charlotte with several other schools he's now considering, including Cincinnati and Virginia Tech. The school's tweet said he'll visit the Bearcats on Oct. 11.

Carter played in high school at Jersey City (N.J.) St. Anthony.

Not only committed to Bona, but actually signed an NLI. If you are the Charlotte 49ers / Atlantic 10 reporter for the Observer, then you are supposed to know these things!

He has already asked and was given the release of his NLI back in July.

Thanks David. We're looking forward to having Eli come down, he's a great talent and could have an immediate impact on our program. He's a late bloomer and would be a great addition to our 2011 class.
