49ers forward K.J. Sherrill is out 8-12 weeks with torn lateral meniscus in his left knee. Sherrill hurt the knee in Thursday night's "Major Madness" preseason activities.
It's the second dose of bad injury news for the 49ers this preseason: Guard Charles Dewhurst, a reserve guard, is out 4-7 weeks, also with a meniscus tear in his knee.
