The 49ers have made the Big South's Charleston Southern their third football opponent in 2013.
The 49ers will play at Charleston Southern on Oct. 26, 2013. The 49ers and Buccaneers will play in Charlotte on Sept. 27, 2014.
Here's how Charlotte's first football schedules looks so far:

Don't remove my comment. It's not bad. Judy, you fine thang you, keep up the good work. You dill weeds that complain about the classrooms, grow up, you should have seen what my grandfather sat in during class. UNC-Charlotte Football, so far looks like they will be 3-0!!
I like the schedule so far. Decent Non-BCS foes, an in state school. You have to understand we will not be playing ACC and SEC schools anytime soon, except maybe to be the first tune up game for them.

There are 245 Division 1 football teams (I-A and I-AA combined)
Campbell has a power ranking of 242.
Morehead State is 231 and Charleston Southern is 206.
I wouldn't exactly call them decent non-bcs foes.
We are building a program. I think the school is being quite aggressive. Campbell is a much tougher opponent than either GA state or odu played.
I can't tell if these posts are sarcastic or not. If they are, OK. If not, grow up or disappear from here.
I do hope we can get 2 road games against ACC, SEC or Big Ten teams. The visiting cupcake school gets about $400k for these games. That is money to build a quality program. That's how UAB built their program in the early '90s.
Buy games are important to help fund and build your program, but winning is important too. You have to be careful to schedule just enough buy games to cover your expenses, but not too many that you end up with a losing record.
Winning is just as key to long term success as money.

We are playing Tennessee! I'm just not sure when they are going to announce it.
My wife and I are already planning our trip to Charleston. This game is a good excuse to take a vacation.
Charleston Southern is a great opponent for Charlotte, the fans can travel to Charleston very easily and at low cost.
The team isn't going to win any championships at the beginning, it's about enjoying the team and being able to watch them away from home is good for that. In the early years, the more local opponents the better.
Yeah, JCSU would be a great cross-town rival. It would a great local crowd.
