Junior Keri Palma’s two-out grand slam kick-started a seven run, two-out rally for Charlotte in the sixth inning as the 49ers took down UNC Greensboro 7-0 in Game 1 Tuesday of a doubleheader.
Charlotte would then score each of their nine runs with two outs in Game 2's 9-6 victory over the Spartans as the 49ers upped their record to 25-12.
Charlotte senior Sarah Malene swiped second base with two outs in the sixth in Game 1 to become the all-time single-season stolen bases leader, while junior pitcher Emily Jeffery struck out 14 batters for the fourth straight game, giving her 207 for the season.
