Getting Richmond and Xavier twice isn't good for us. (Why do we get all the top dogs twice every year? When do we get to play Fordham and La Salle twice?)

Now that we are fielding a complete team (unlike the half-team we fielded most of last year), I'm hoping for 7 conference wins. That probably puts us at 15-13 and an NIT bid. That would be fabulous progress and put us on track to get back to the NCAA tournament soon.

Why on earth would you want to play two of the worst RPI anchors in the country twice? A win against either Fordham or LaSalle typically hurts your RPI worse than a loss against the likes of Xavier or Richmond. I'd much rather gauge the play of the Niners against the top of the league, not pretend that somehow two wins against 250+ RPI teams somehow makes our season better overall.

9:11, the truth is that .500 basketball is more important for UNCC now than RPI ratings or postseason seeding. They need wins to garner attention, both local, regional, and national.
