It was a big week for Charlotte 49ers sophomore Ryan Rivers. In the 49ers' 31-1 rout of N.C. A&T, Rivers drove in a career-high seven RBI, one shy of the school record held by three players and the most since 1995 in a game.
In game one of the doubleheader with George Washington on Saturday, Rivers became the third 49er since 1992 to hit for the cycle, which included his first career triple and team-leading 10th home run of the season in the 4-for-4 day and 12-2 win. He finished the day with hits in eight-straight at bats, tied for the second-longest stretch in school history.
For the week, he homered twice and slugged at 1.235 in four games. He has scored a run in six straight contests (14 total in that run).
