The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team lost 4-0 in the semifinals Saturday against top-seed Richmond at the Atlantic 10 Championships in Monroeville, Pa. The 49ers fall to 15-5 on the season.
The Spiders (16-5) got wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles, winning in identical 8-5 results. The No. 1 match was tied at 6-6 when doubles play was halted.
In singles play, Charlotte had leads at No. 1 (Ana Spivakovsky) and No. 3 (Koren Fleming), but Erin Clark defeated Yudeshnee Pillay in straight sets at No. 2, ending her 17-match win streak.
Charlotte will play in the third-place match Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m.
