Observations from Tuesday's loss to UMass

-Apparently there is time travel in Halton Arena. Massachusetts’ Ricky Harris went to the line for a one-and-one free throw opportunity with 38 seconds left in the first half. He missed the second and in the battle for the rebound, the ball rolled out of bounds with 32 seconds left. Charlotte got possession but as point guard DiJuan Harris crossed halfcourt, one of the referees said the shot clock had been mistakenly turned off. With no replay available the officials decided to start the play all over again – with 36 seconds left on the clock.

-I’m not so sure having first round conference tournament games held on the campuses of the higher seeds is such a good idea. In Charlotte’s case, students are on spring break, which greatly diminished turnover. Also, if a team’s fans are unsure whether it will actually make the trip to Atlantic City, N.J., for the final three games, it’s doubtful many would purchase tickets ahead of time.

-Charlotte junior forward Shamari Spears picked up an additional honor on Tuesday as The Sporting News named him to its all-Atlantic 10 second team. Spears, who averages 16.3 points and 6.0 rebounds a game, was named third-team all-conference by the league.

Shamar Bowden is laughing his ass off somewhere right now!

Bobby Lutz hates this university. He hates the fans, Judy Rose, and Phil Dubois. If he didn't he would resign. But instead he will be laughing his way to the bank (for another 4 years)!

Hey Jim, Ever wonder why Tom makes more than you? Because hes not a mouthpiece for the AD. He tells it like it is - and not by making stupid petty observations of the refs every game.

If Shamar Bowden is laughing, good for him. All he did here was get tattoos and sulk. He had terrible bench demeanor.

Its a fact that he led the team in canada as a freshmen and he was afour star recruit. Being recruited by va. Tech at 15 shood let you know something. He never got a chance to show what he could do at Charlotte. As time goes on, you will see.

There is a reason why he was recruited be Virginia Tech at 15!!! but never got offered a scholarship. Cuz he sucks! Did u go to any 49er games? outside of the first he sucked it up. He's slow and cant play defense! Also how stupid does Charlotte have to be to get a 6 men on the court call.

you sure about that? He had a few double digit games along with the teams wins. I just checked on the web and it looks to me that he was a "verbal commit" meaning he was verbally committed to the program as a junior meaning you can not sign until your a senior if you know anything about basketball. With that said he moved a step down by coming to North Carolina Charlotte. ACC-A10 huge drop. I would not have wanted to sit either had I been a prior ACC recruit. But there is nothing that can be done now regardless there season is over

8:12 get a freakin' clue. Charlotte has a MUCH richer bball history than VTech (ACC or not).

Who's still playing and who's not? Past couple of years both teams have went NIT, cmon dude acc basketball is acc basketball. That is why they get more bids than the atlantic 10

7:56 get a clue---if you actually think VT has a better bball rep. than Charlotte. Thats a joke! You also know (I'm sure) that we were in the Metro together and routinely mopped the floor with them. Not to mention mopping the floor with Greenberg's S. Florida teams.
