The Charlotte 49ers women's soccer team, which has won three Atlantic 10 titles in the last four years, has received eight commitments for the 2010 season. The 49ers return 23 letter-winners and nine starters for head coach John Cullen's second season.
Joining the 49ers are Taylor Mackenzie Dulaney of Kernersville, Brenna Hartner of Dewitt, Mich., Alex Kubrick of Greensboro, Brooke Mulloy of Charlotte, Dakota Shawntae Olson of Las Vegas, Elizabeth Rounds of Matthews, Kelsey Thomas of Virginia Beach, Va. and Sarah Ann Elizabeth Waugh of Statesville.
"We are truly excited to welcome these young ladies to our Charlotte 49ers soccer family," Cullen said. "It has been very evident to us since day one of the recruiting process that these young ladies have demonstrated a desire to be part of what we are building upon.
"They come knowing the standards and are prepared to work hard and challenge themselves to continue to keep our program recognized as a national level soccer program."
Charlotte opens the 2010 season against Davidson at home on Aug. 27.
