Niners are A-10 golf champs again

The Charlotte 49ers' only golf tournament win of the season was a good one as Charlotte defeated Xavier by 10 strokes on Sunday at the Mission Inn Golf & Tennis Resort in Florida to win its fourth consecutive Atlantic 10 championship.

The 49ers will make their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. They have finished eighth or better the past two seasons.

Junior Corey Nagy won individual honors for the 49ers in the tournament finishing at one-under par. His teammate, senior Stefen Wiedergruen, finished second, four shots behind Nagy. Charlotte freshman Paul Ferrier was tied for fifth at seven over par.

I am happy for Corey Nagy and Steph "Spot me a vowel with his last name". They busted heir tails and endured a coaching change and now they can work towards All-America status! Good for them.
