The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team used a pair of 4-0 victories on Friday to advance to Saturday's semifinals of the Atlantic 10 women's tennis tournament to face No. 1 seed Richmond at Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa.
Charlotte, the fifth seed, defeated 12th-seed Saint Joseph’s in the early session Friday and beat No. 4 seed Rhode Island in Friday's evening session.
Charlotte's Yudeshnee Pillay eanred her 18th consecutive singles victory, giving her 24 on the season - two shy of the school record. She is in a three-way tie for second place on the all-time singles win list.
