Dayton ran out to an early first-half lead and never looked back as the Flyers beat Saint Louis 74-52 Friday at Halton Arena in the first round of the Atlantic 10 women's tournament.
Dayton (19-12), the tournament's eighth seed, will play top seed Xavier (25-5) at noon Saturday in the quarterfinals. Xavier swept both games during the regular season but the Flyers lost by only two at home.
Freshman Justine Raterman led the Flyers in Friday's game, scoring a game-high 19 points. Kendel Ross and Kayla Moses each scored 12. Lauren Woods led Saint Louis (12-18) with 11 points.
