Charlotte 49ers freshman forward Brittany Carter, a 6-0 forward from Lewisville, N.C., will miss Saturday's NCAA Tournament opener against Purdue after suffering a concussion during practice this week.
Carter, who had her best games of the season during the 49ers' three-game run to the Atlantic 10 tournament title two weeks ago, will also likely be unavailable should Charlotte advance to Monday's second round game in Chattanooga.

The way she played in the A-10 Tourney that is a punch to the gut. But there are plenty of other players that can and have stepped up. GO NINERS
