Jamarr Sanders, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound shooting guard who went on a remarkable scoring run to end his final season at Northwest Florida State College, is making a recruiting visit with the Charlotte 49ers. He was expected to arrive on campus Thursday evening.
Sanders averaged 18.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game for the Raiders, who finished the season 21-7. In his last five games with the team, he scored 25, 27, 28, 40 and 19 points. Sanders shot 53 percent from the field, including 44 percent from 3-point range, and 78 percent from the free throw line.
-- Malcolm Armstead, a talented 6-0 point guard from Chiopla Junior College in Florida who has received offers from Providence, Arkansas and Iowa, is expected to make a recruiting visit sometime next week.

My only concern with the kid having the breakout season is, that is the kind of kid that we got in Barnett and he has not been very productive for the Niners even after a redshirt year and an opportunity to play a lot.
How can you consider 9 mpg a lot of playing time?
What about Curry from Liberty. I understand he is transfering. Is there a possibilty he is looking at Charlotte forty niners?
Charlotte needs players (guards) for next season. Curry would have to sit out next season.
When you shoot 6% from the floor.....9 mpg is alot !!!
Hmm interesting recruit...campus visit should be a plus.
Chipola is a winning program as is NW Florida St. It stinks to have to rely on juco transfers all the time, but sometimes they really can make an impact. I would rate Lamont Mack and Charlie Coley as good pickups but some of our others have been useless. Hope it works out for these guys though, we really need some help for Dijuan Harris...
You know that DiJuan is a JuCo transfer, too? He had three years when he walked on as a transfer who earned a scholly.
For every bad JUCO, there is a good one. Same way with 4 yr players from HS. They are all unknowns until they suit up in college.
Did he stick around longer enough to see the sun peek out? Damn, that was a lot of rain!
sanders is a good player. started on state championship team, jeff davis in montgomery along with courtney fortson of arkansas, varez ward of texas, and recent alabama signee chavez davis. none of them had grades and so he sat out at alabama state while others went to prep school. had pretty good 1st year at bama state coming off the bench but never started b/c he was behind conference player of the year & honorable metion all american player. left, I believe b/c he didn't start and all his former team mates were at "big time schools."
